Dean Sakamoto presented the Chinatown Urban Acupuncture (CUA) project to over 30 members of the State of Hawaii TOD Task Force and members of the public at the State Capitol. Dean emphasized that Chinatown is only one of twenty-one future Transit Oriented Districts (TOD) that need planning and urban design. The CUA project is an alternative example of TOD planning through intern training and professional mentorship. Honolulu's $7B rail project is due be completed in less than 4-6 years.
